Venezuela is referred to as the ‘Lost World’ (thanks to Arthur Conan Doyle) for a very good reason. It is perhaps one of the lesser developed South American countries in terms of tourism, but my goodness is it worth a visit! A true pioneering adventure!
The best way to see this country is by foot and canoe. Trek and camp at the top of Mount Roraima, in the company of experienced local guides every step of the way. Here you will take in spectacular views of lush grass land and tropical forest that so few have ever witnessed.
Visit the Orinoco Delta and meet with the native Indians, amongst the mangrove creeks. Take a motorised canoe to the spectacular Angel Falls, one of the most amazing waterfalls in the world; then head to the Los Llanos Wetlands to mingle with the alligators and err.. anacondas!
